If you're using an external mechanical keyboard, or the keys get pressed while you're cleaning the screen, then turning off the built-in keyboard is a smart and practical choice.
This is the quickest fix! To do this, we'll tell Windows it's an “Incompatible Driver” and permanently block the keyboard. When you uninstall it, Windows won't be able to re-enable it.
Open Device Manager > Keyboards > right-click on Standard PS/2 Keyboard and select “Update driver.” Now click “Browse my computer” to open the list.
Uncheck “Show compatible hardware.” Select any random driver from the list. Then a red warning will appear, but ignore it and restart the PC.
If you're a pro user and want a solid permanent block, try “gpedit.msc.” It will strictly prevent Windows from reinstalling the driver.

Want to lock it without any third-party app? Just press and hold the “Right Shift” key on your keyboard for 8 seconds. You'll hear a beep and the keyboard will temporarily lock.
Don't worry—to get it working again, open Device Manager, check “Show compatible hardware,” and select Standard PS/2 Keyboard. The keyboard will then return to working mode.
